Betsy Alquist - Owner/Accountant

Betsy is one of the founding partners, co-owner & the accountant of Music Shed Studios. After graduating from St. Martin's, Betsy earned a degree in Accounting from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. After returning to New Orleans, to begin her professional life in accounting serving five years in finance and tax in the oil and gas industry. Betsy then opened an accounting business called Surecords Inc. in 1987 to provide services to small businesses located mostly in the South. After 2 years of research with her Music Shed partners, her personal life long love of music blossomed into a professional one as well. Today she continues to operate Surecords alongside her duties at Music Shed Studios as managing owner with Chris Bailey. Her experience observing the challenges faced by the wide variety of small businesses she serves through Surecords greatly benefits the Music Shed Studios, and her tax expertise has been put to use by many Music Shed clients through the Louisiana Sound Recording Investor Tax Credit.
